MRSA Notice

 

There has been extensive coverage in the news recently about a bacterial infection called MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus). MRSA is not a new disease. It has been a public health concern for many years, especially in hospitals and healthcare facilities. In the past several years it has become more frequent in the community. MRSA skin infections are resistant to some antibiotics, but not all and can be successfully treated. Early diagnosis and treatment are especially important. Note Regarding MS/HS Sports

If your child is playing a MS/HS spring sport and his/her physical was done more than 60 days before the first practice you must complete a health history update. These forms are available in the health office or from the coach.

If you or your child have any MS/HS sport health concerns please call MS/HS nurse's office at 201-843-2880 ex 222.

 SPRING SPORTS 

All students playing a spring sport for the middle or high school must have a current sports physical on file with the nurse. Physicals are to be done by your primary care physician.You must use the state approved forms. These are available in the health office.
